Indialantic Man Dies While Prepping For Hurricane Dorian
(Indialantic, FL) --- An Indialantic man is dead after trying to prepare for Hurricane Dorian. Sixty-eight-year-old David Bradley was prepping for the storm by putting up plywood on his home. He fell while completing that work Sunday around 4:30 p.m. Police believe he may have had a heart attack during the fall.
Hurricane Warning For Brevard County
(Melbourne, FL) -- Brevard County may be in for the worst of Hurricane Dorian. The National Weather Service has issued a Hurricane Warning and a Storm Surge Warning for the county. The deadly storm is expected to move up the coast today and tomorrow. The NWS warns there's a high threat of damaging winds and life-threatening storm surge.
Brevard County Opens Additional Shelter
(Titusville, FL) -- Brevard County residents in need of a place to ride out the storm have a new option. The county yesterday opened a 14th shelter at Mims Elementary School on US One. Mandatory evacuations went into effect yesterday morning for those on the barrier island, low-lying areas and those in mobile or manufactured homes. TS Warning For Volusia County
(Melbourne, FL) -- Volusia County should be prepared for what meteorologists say will be significant wind damage from Hurricane Dorian. The National Weather Service has issued a Hurricane Warning for the coast and a Tropical Storm Warning for inland residents. A Storm Surge Warning is also in effect as the storm surge could reach seven feet. The NWS advises residents to take steps as soon as possible to protect life and property and seek safe shelter.
Volusia County Imposes Curfew
(Melbourne, FL) -- As Hurricane Dorian approaches, Volusia County is taking steps to get people off the streets. A curfew will go into effect at 6:00 tonight until 6:00 tomorrow morning for areas east of the Halifax River. Another curfew will go into effect tomorrow night at 6:00. Those seeking shelter should be aware that the shelter at David Hinson Middle School in Daytona Beach is at capacity, but a list of open shelters is at Volusia.org.
Panhandle Homeowners Offering Shelter For Evacuees
(Pensacola, FL) -- Those fleeing Hurricane Dorian can find shelter in the Panhandle. Some homeowners are offering rooms for free through Airbnb to those ordered to evacuate from the Atlantic coast. A Pensacola woman who opened her home was an evacuee during Hurricane Ivan, and she says this is her way of giving back. She tells Channel 3 News when you're in a crisis, knowing someone else cares is sometimes the only thing that gets you through.

Atlanta Braves Offer Free Tickets To Hurricane Evacuees
(Atlanta, GA) -- Hurricane Dorian evacuees who end up in Atlanta this week can take advantage of a free offer from the Braves. The Major League Baseball team is making free tickets available to Tuesday's game, where they'll be hosting the Toronto Blue Jays at SunTrust Park. On Thursday, they take on the Washington Nationals and that game will also be free for evacuees. The complimentary tickets are good for residents of Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas who have identification showing they live in a zip code under mandatory evacuation.
North Carolina Man Refuses To Pay For Dog-Ordered Porn
(Wilson, NC) -- A North Carolina man is refusing to pay his television bill because he says his dog accidentally ordered a porn channel. Fifty-eight-year-old Thomas Barnes, of Wilson, says his dog Marino lept on the bed, landed on the remote control and happened to order the Hustler channel on Direct TV. Barnes contacted the television company shortly after to explain the mistake and was assured that it would be reversed. Despite still having access to the channel, Barnes paid his bill minus the 70-dollar fee for the channel. Shortly after, his service was completely shut off. Barnes, who relies on Social Security disability payments, says he could not believe Direct TV would do that and filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission. Now, the television provider has promised to credit his next bill.
