Suspects Arrested In Death Of Orlando Couple

(Orlando, FL) -- Arrests made in New York could lead to some answers in the death of an Orlando couple. Multiple suspects are in custody on drug charges, but prosecutors say the suspects are substantially involved in the deaths of Miguel Valentin-Colon and Nicole Plaud, who were murdered in Buffalo over two months ago. Their three-year-old son was found on a porch near the crime scene, but he has since returned to Central Florida to live with his grandparents.

Polk County Sheriff's Office Makes Historic Drug Bust

(Bartow, FL) -- Polk County deputies can celebrate a historic drug bust. The sheriff's office announced yesterday the largest heroin seizure in its history as part of Operation Trifecta. Sheriff Grady Judd says 10-plus pounds of heroin seized in an August raid has an estimated street value of almost five million dollars. Judd says the drug seizure saved lives.

Couple Pleads Guilty To Defrauding City Of Miami

(Miami, FL) -- A couple will have to pay back the money they stole from the city of Miami in a car booting scheme. Andrew Bleacher and Gabriela Caltagirone pled guilty yesterday to organized fraud. They ran Premiere Booting Services, which booted illegally parked cars and charged drivers to remove the boot. Part of the money they collected was supposed to go to the city, but the couple pocketed the money instead, and prosecutors say, over the course of four years, the couple wound up with an extra 700-thousand dollars.

Boy Survives Shark Encounter

(Oviedo, FL) -- A Seminole County boy isn't fazed by a recent encounter in the water. Oviedo nine-year-old Chandler Moore was surfing this weekend in New Smyrna Beach when a blacktip shark knocked him off his surfboard. Chandler was not hurt, and his dad tells News 6 they thought it was just a fish so Chandler went out paddling for more.

Brevard County Teen Qualifies For Olympics

(Melbourne Beach, FL) -- A Brevard County teenager has a chance to make Olympic history. Melbourne Beach 17-year-old Caroline Marks qualified this weekend for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in surfing, which will be part of the Olympics for the first time ever. She's the youngest US athlete to qualify for next year's Games. 

Several Florida Cities Considered Among the Least Safe In America

(Undated) -- Numerous Florida cities are considered to be among the most dangerous places in the United States to live in or visit. WalletHub looked at data about the number of violent crimes, unemployment rates and how many registered sex offenders there are in numerous cities. It determined Cape Coral is among the least safe at 27th place, Pembroke Pines is 38th, Tallahassee is in 65th place, Tampa is 90th. And it gets worse from there with Hialeah in the 96th spot, Jacksonville is 124th, Miami is the 131st safest city, Orlando is in 164th place, St. Petersburg is 168th and Fort Lauderdale is in 181st place.

McDonald's Testing Fried Chicken Sandwich

(Undated) -- A fast food giant wants a bite of the fried chicken sandwich market. McDonald's is testing a crispy chicken sandwich in Knoxville, Tennessee and Houston, Texas. A basic version of the sandwich comes with the fried chicken sandwich standard of pickles on a buttery roll, while a more deluxe version has tomatoes, lettuce and mayo. McDonald's already has a McChicken sandwich, but the new item is apparently aimed at competing with the popularity of similar sandwiches at Chick-fil-A and Popeyes.

Naked Man Armed With Ax Arrested Following Barricade

(Annapolis, MD) -- Police in Maryland say a naked man was found in a vacant home eating pizza before barricading himself in and arming himself with an ax. Authorities arrested 41-year-old Trevor Galloway following reports of a naked man destroying property. Galloway was charged with fourth-degree burglary, trespassing and destruction of property. Galloway has 44 prior criminal convictions and three other cases pending. His requested bail was denied yesterday.
