Brevard County Could Be Home To US Space Force
(Titusville, FL) -- Brevard County could become the home of a new space agency. The Air Force announced yesterday that Patrick Air Force Base is a finalist to host the US Space Command headquarters. Five other communities around the country are also finalists, and a decision is expected next year. Senator Rick Scott says there could be no better place than the Space Coast, and Senator Marco Rubio says this could add to the Space Coast's legacy of being America's gateway to the stars.
Charges Filed After Road Rage Incident In Volusia County
(Ormond Beach, FL) -- An apparent road rage incident has a man facing charges in Volusia County. Ormond Beach Police arrested Delbert Briggs, Jr. this week for assault and false imprisonment. The 33-year-old allegedly cut off a couple, hit a curb and then followed the couple. A woman in the car Briggs was pursuing called 911, and the dispatcher directed her to the police station where Briggs allegedly confessed to threatening the couple.
USF Doctor Urges Limiting Thanksgiving Crowds
(Tampa, FL) -- In order to enjoy future Thanksgivings with our loved ones, we may need to sacrifice a bit this year. Yesterday, USF Dr. Marissa Levine agreed after the CDC asked families to limit the number of people at their celebration. Levine says complying with that request may be necessary so next year we can celebrate the kind of Thanksgiving we're used to. She also tells 10 Tampa Bay if you have plans to travel, you should reconsider or think deeply about what you have to do to protect yourself.
Key West Announces Mask Mandate
(Key West, FL) -- Key West is taking action to try to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The city commission yesterday voted to amend its mask mandate. The mandate now calls for everyone to wear a mask whenever they leave their home or residence, regardless of their ability to socially distance. Commissioners say the new measure will help avoid business closures.
Most Common Passwords Remain Mostly The Same In 2020
(Undated) -- It appears people aren't making the effort to beef up their passwords. Password management company Nordpass says the top ten worst secret words or phrases for 2020 is pretty similar to last year. In the top spot is 1-2-3-4-5-6, with more than two-and-a-half million users. In second place is 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 with nearly one million users. There are only two passwords in the top ten that take more than a second to crack. One of those is picture1, which takes three hours to expose. The other is senha, Portuguese for password, takes ten seconds to crack. Password itself also made the list, along with 1-1-1-1-1-1 and 1-2-3-1-2-3.
